Empowering women for a more equitable world

We are standard-bearers of gender equality, understanding that both men and women contribute to a more balanced and just society.

We are proud to implement initiatives that transcend gender barriers in a traditionally male industry, and thus live in a culture that fosters diversity, equity and inclusion.

As part of our commitment, for 2021 we designed the Mobilizing Woman program in Colombia, aligned with UNICEF’s 2018-2021 action plan for gender equality.

Within this program, we established 5 strategic steps

  1. Recognition: encouraging women to take concrete actions to conquer their dreams and enter into permanent cycles of personal and collective growth.
  2. Inspiration: constant strengthening of life skills sometimes needs to be encouraged to create the habit and awareness.
  3. Training and education: training process of interest and usefulness for the participants to strengthen their technical skills.
  4. Economic mobilization: to make local talent visible through initiatives that allow them to implement the set of skills, competencies and knowledge acquired to mobilize their own and their territory’s economy.
  5. Accompaniment: process of implementation of diversity and inclusion practices that ensure an empathetic environment and leverage new ideas, leadership and positive developments.

The distinctive initiatives within the program are:

  • CRECE CON FRONTERA: technical training for women in Puerto Gaitán in the operation of gas and crude oil wells with the help of SENA and CoreWoman to train 50 women from Puerto Gaitán, Meta, as operation technicians to encourage female participation in positions traditionally held by men in the industry.

  • WOMEN AT THE WHEEL: with which we are breaking the stereotypes that there are specific roles for men. With this we seek to involve women as drivers of trucks and tractors to travel the Colombian geography with technical development and empowerment. Currently we have 10 women at the wheel, 9 of them drive passenger vans and 1 of them drives a tanker truck. To date, 155,273 ‘pink’ kilometers have been traveled.

  • ANIDAR: project hand in hand with Ecopetrol and Artesanías de Colombia, with which we support 90 Sikuani women in order to empower them and strengthen their manufacturing techniques, so that they have opportunities for promotion and marketing of their crafts, generating income that will help improve their quality of life – We have consolidated 3 ethnic groups: Ketsuli – Ibotori – Manawi.

  • WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS: strengthening of productive processes and women’s associations in the areas of operation.
